When: Tuesdays Jan 21 and 28. Class from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm and practica afterwards.

These wonderful Argentinian Maestros are currently in Los Angeles, but they are thinking of being friends of Santa Barbara. Let’s open the doors to these lovely young people.

ABOUT the teachers...


JULIETA and ALEJANDRO are tango artists, are well known for their unique and expressive style . With more than 20 years embracing argentinian tango, they started dancing together in Buenos Aires in 2012 and since then they have been performing, choreographing and teaching internationally.


ALEJANDRO DEOCCA,
Throughout the years, Alejandro appeared in long and short season shows in Buenos Aires, in such historic venues as “Piazzolla Tango”, “Viejo Almacen” and “Catulo Tango.
In 2023 was part of a great cast at the Vampi Nacht Tango Fest in Amsterdam teaching and performing.
In 2022 he performed and taught in several stages between London, UK and Brussels.
He took part in different shows along years in the Symphony Space in Broadway, Teatro Centrale in Rome (Fantango Show), Memorial Theater in Sao Paulo (Company Tango Viaje al Sentimento), Alvear Palace in Buenos Aires, Tango en Tierra del Fuego (Ushuaia), with the Orchestra Camara de Mayo with bandoneonist Lisandro Adrover.

In 2019 He was invited withJulietaas a jury, teacher and performer at the Tango Summit International Fest in Los Angeles CA.
Alejandro han enriched his technique since 2000 with tango Maestros such as Raul Bravo, Julio Balmaceda, Gavito, Jorge Torres, Claudio Villagra, Geraldine Rojas y Ezequiel Paludi.
During his career, Alejandro took part in several TV shows in Argentina and Mexico and was invited to dance the tangos of the great composer Agustin Lara at the International Homage in the City of Veracruz, along with the National Ballet of Cuba.
Throughout the years, Alejandro has developed his own dancing style and has gained a loyal following of students in several countries as Italy, Poland, Brasil, Portugal, France, Belgium.
His love for tango, has also translated into composing and releasing two pieces of tango: “Tango Placebo” and “A Roman Polanski” featuring Pablo Ahmad as a bandoneonist.
He began his career in 2000 being part of Tango’s Heart and Latin Tango Company along five years.

As an organizer used to ran two milongas in London, UK (Percal and Milonga Bohemia).

Julieta, born in Buenos Aires , Argentina, brings 27 years of tango to her teachings.
A dedicated passionate professional teacher and dancer with a high level of experience and training.
Julietastarted her professional career in tango around the year of 2007, in Buenos Aires, and then she continued teaching and performing in shows, milongas and especial events in Europe, Mexico, Canada and USA.
Julietaparticipated as a jury and teacher of the International Tango Summit Festival in LA, 2019.
She directed and produced the first Women's Tango Festival in México, " La Juana de Arco”.
She presented her own Tango&Burlesque show in Los Angeles, USA, danced in a various music videos and performed in the Carnival Choreographer's Ball at the Key Club in Los Angeles. She was part of the Wenta Ballet, and she was part of the intensives works of Diavolo Dance Theatre .
Julieta's father was a tango dancer, she gives him the credit for instilling her passionate love for tango. For several years, she was part of the Rhythmic Gymnastic Team Velez Sarsfield, competing in the National Argentinian Championships; it was then when she had her first contact with tango, at the age of 11, when performing a competition with her hoop to the music of Anibal Troilo, El Choclo.
Being rooted with traditional tango, she soaked up the "milonguero" spirit through many years of dancing back in the day in the clubs of Buenos Aires. In her teaching, she combines traditional and contemporary  techniques that she had grasped since 1997 from Argentinian teachers along the years, and in addition to that, she passes to her students movement sensations that she kept in her body memory since younger from watching and dancing with many milongueros of those times.
Julietaalso is an equestrian dressage rider , who had collaborated with her dance knowledge to a various Vaulting teams in Los Angeles .
She also became a Certified Gyrokinesis® Instructor in Germany, 2012.
Julietagraduated as a Piano Professor, in the Santa Cecilia’s Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires.
Julietaholds a 5 years University Degree in BA in Tourism.
